Young King Arthur
Young King Arthur

The legend of King Arthur pulling the sword Excalibur from the stone is a central tale in Arthurian mythology. According to the story, after the death of the king, the land is left without a ruler. Merlin, the wizard, places a magical sword in a stone, declaring that whoever pulls it free will be the rightful king. Many try and fail. Young Arthur, a humble squire, accidentally pulls the sword from the stone, proving he is the destined king of Britain. This act marks the beginning of his legendary reign and the establishment of the Knights of the Round Table.

An illustration I did this for a small independent tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) developer Mythos Forge Games, they are crafting a gothic adventure/horror game set amidst the landscapes of 14th-century Europe, entitled "Grimoires of the Unseen."
