Trial By Storm
Trial By Storm

“Entry 302
The Thunder Draconic. I believe I finally found him.
The elder in the village told me that every storm, they see something in the clouds... Something... Big. Ancient. They can feel it. He's here, somewhere on the peak; hidden beyond the clouds.
The mountain itself is veiled by constant rain and thunders. According to the townsfolk - it was like this since they can remember. That means that this draconic is truly the one that I've been searching for. The one that would set forth my path, to grant me the power to kill others. Or so it was told to me, all those years ago by the oracle. So far she hasn't been wrong. Gives me shivers... That old woman... Blind, but saw so much.
I've no ambition beyond providing safety for the people. That is the truth. These monsters roamed the lands for far too long, preying on every living being.
They will soon meet their makers. A man killing a god! Unheard of. So far.
Yes, I forgot to mention. These draconics are worshipped - as gods. Or maybe I mentioned it? Well, now it doesn't matter. It's hard to keep track of everything.
What will happen if I succeed? Will the draconic power truly be mine, then? Or is it just a ruse - a trick of tales, of children stories?
Doubts shroud my mind. If the power is false... Then there's no hope for us all. If I die... Well, that's no better.
After all, there is only one way to find out.
I will leave the journal to the village elder, in case I do not return. I have trained for this fight, I know I'm ready. But fear... Fear remains.
I am ready for my trial.”
